1. Job Title: Motorcycle Technician
2. Reporting To: Service Manager
3. Main Purpose of the Job
To carry out service and repair work efficiently and competently to complete repair orders
To all motorcycles/scooters to franchise standards.
4. Detailed Responsibilities
5. To ensure that times are recorded as requested by management.
6. To attend internal and external training courses, as directed by the management.
7. To keep your work bay maintained in a tidy and clean condition in your own time.
8. To advise the Service Manager of any additional work
necessary on a motorcycle during service.
v. To ensure parts for warranty claims are retained and are cleaned and drained of oil,
where necessary. To ensure exchange parts are returned to Parts Department
when required.
vi. To be prepared to work overtime, with reasonable notice, if requested by the
management.
vii. To ensure that the motorcycles/scooters worked on are carefully handled and that all-reasonable care is taken of that motorcycle/scooter on the premises for repair or service
viii. To maintain and develop skill levels in all aspects of repair, service and
maintenance of all motorcycle/scooter franchises and other motorcycles.
ix. To make full use of BMW /Kawasaki/Triumph/Moto Guzzi Special Tools, Diagnostic Equipment, Testers, Service Equipment and training as provided to improve customer service levels and workshop efficiency.
x. To maintain thorough and current product knowledge and read all Service
Information and Service News bulletins as supplied by Service Management.
X1. To ensure quality control on each and every job, so the repair is done once , any returns on faulty workmanship shall be discussed with the workshop manager, and where deemed unacceptable, remedied in your time. Any damage to motorcycles/scooters whilst being serviced/repaired on our premises by yourself that deems to be carelessness or neglect by Experience Motorcycles we may seek costs to repair the damage which can will be deducted from the employee’s wages, each incident must be reported to the service manager/general manager IMMEDIATELY.
No extra work is to be carried out on a clients motorcycle without the Service Managers approval
No Technicians will liaise with customers directly unless instructed by the Service Manager
All Motorcycles/Scooters must be checked for current WOF/Registration.
The Technician may be required from time to time to move bikes on and off the forecourt to store in work bays.
The Technician must be clocked on to every job and have no less than 1.5 hours down time through the working day which includes the lunch break of 30 minutes.
Technicians must not interfere with other technicians that are working, and only help out where requested.
